My name is Valérie, I am 39 years old, and I have cystic fibrosis.

I was diagnosed when I was 1 year old. Many complications led to a very poor breathing capacity, which necessitated numerous drug interventions through frequent infusions of antibiotics. 

I discovered Simeox in October 2019, at that time I was desperate with my breath and with finding solutions to help clear my lungs. My physiotherapists were not equipped with the device but, thanks to the support of those around me, I acquired it. 

I have been using it for a few months now at my home. The first few weeks were difficult, mastering the machine was not obvious at the beginning and the intervention of a physiotherapist was both necessary and reassuring. After this intense period of learning, which only lasted a week or two, the first beneficial effects were felt, my FEV1 increased and my residual volume decreased. The whole point of this machine lies in its regular use. Being able to use it at home as soon as it is needed makes its use easier and less constraining for a patient with a chronic disease.
